AHDRA Teams Up With Largest Armed Forces Fundraiser In The Midwest

The All Harley Drag Racing Association (AHDRA) heads to Gateway International Raceway (Madison, IL) for the fourth appearance of the national points series on May 6 and 7.

AHDRA will host sixteen classes of competition, including the 200 mph Screamin' Eagle Nitro Harleys, modified gas bikes, street bikes, and the Screamin' Eagle V-Rod Destroyers to name a few.

In addition to the drag racing, fans will enjoy the numerous activities that have been added to this year's event, which is being held in conjunction with the largest armed forces fundraiser in the Midwest The Gypsy Rendezvous. Proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the James S. McDonnell USO of St. Louis.

The Gypsy Rendezvous Nationals presented by Drag Specialties will include an action- packed weekend of racing, custom bike builders, field events, a bike show, stunt motocross performances, live music, and a raffle to win a 2006 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy.

Topping off the weekend will be a special appearance on Sunday by the one and only Willie G. Davidson.

The weekend activities kick off on Friday, May 5th, when AHDRA Nitro parties are hosted at the three participating dealerships. Gateway to the West Harley-Davidson in St. Louis, MO; Surdyke Harley-Davidson in Festus, MO; and Dale's Harley Davidson in Mt. Vernon, IL.

The Nitro parties will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Attendees will enjoy free food from Hooters, race bike displays, great deals storewide, and discounts on admission to the races.

Custom bike builder Kendall Johnson will make an appearance at Gateway to the West Harley-Davidson's Nitro party before heading to the weekend races. Kim Suter of KC Creations will make a pre-race appearance at Surdyke Harley-Davidson on Friday.

The racing action and other activities get under way at Gateway International Raceway on Saturday, May 6th, at 9:00 a.m. and on Sunday, May 7th, at 1:00 p.m.

On Sunday, the escorted Gypsy Rendezvous Ride will depart from the three participating Harley-Davidson dealerships en route to Gateway International Raceway for all the racing festivities and the drawing for the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy winner.

Admission prices to the races are $40 for two days and $25 for single-day passes. Children 11 and under are admitted free. AHDRA also offers free admission to active and reserve military personnel with proper identification.

Discounts are available for race tickets at all three participating dealerships. Discount armbands must be picked up in advance at one of the dealerships to be honored at Gateway International Raceway.
