Chrome Divas Weekend Getaway to Pismo Beach

This is going to be a long weekend getaway for the Chrome Divas and guests. Some of us will leave Friday, August 8th and some may leave on Saturday August 9th. We will be staying at a great place called "The Tides Motel". It is a motel that has cottages off the cliffs overlooking the ocean. The cottages have BBQ areas and the motel itself has a trail down to the beach (woo hoo!). We have reserved an 8 person, 4 person and single cottage in anticipation of a great turnout. The plan is as follows: Friday-ride up, relax, have dinner and have fun! Saturday-ride to Hearst Castle Saturday afternoon for a tour and photos (tentative). We will then return for a BBQ at the Cottage . Sunday-ride home. Meetup points will be posted as we near the event. For those who RSVP "Maybe", we will need to know your final decision by July 31, 2008. Also, please let us know if you are coming up with us on Friday or Saturday. If you plan to ride up Saturday, you can reserve a room at the motel because our cottages have two night minimums. The cost of the cottages will be split among those staying in them. :) Finally, this event isn't just for those who ride. If you don't have a motorcycle or if you don't think you can make it that far on your motorcycle, then drive up?you will have fun no matter how you get there! We can coordinate carpools if needed! Westside Motorcycle Riders August Meetup

Warning: This ride will be twisty! But fun! So I did the ride this past Sunday, and here are the details... We'll head out from the Chevron up PCH and turn up Latigo Canyon Road on our way to the Rock Store via Mulholland Highway. After a bite (and some ride reflection), we'll continue on Mulholland to Las Virgenes/ Malibu Canyon Road, hook a right back to PCH, and head home from there. If you've never been, you'll need to know Latigo Canyon Road is a load of fun, yet also a pretty technical road. It's filled with switchbacks and low-speed turns. (Note: It may not be ideal for very new/inexperienced riders.) A short section of the road is bumpy, but otherwise it's pretty smooth, and with all the turns, don't count on your bike being upright very often. The views from Latigo Canyon, Mulholland and Malibu Canyon make this a very nice ride. All in all, I think it will be a 3-4 hour ride, depending on the size of the group and the skill levels of the riders. We'll review some group riding tips before heading out, and then hit the road! Ride For The Heart

If you are the type of rider that would like to test yourself and your machine, Please join me on a most extraordinary journey. I will be doing the Ride For The Heart (Iron Butt), Southwest 1000, October 4/5, 2008 and I'm looking for anyone interested in sharing the journey and the bragging rights of completting an Iron Butt qualifying Ride.The ride will take in the best parts of Arizona and New Mexico. We leave California for Phoenix on Friday morning we will spend the night near the start point location in order to get an early 5:00 AM start on Sat. morning. We will finish Sunday morning before 5 AM and then get some rest before returning to So~Cal that afternoon. Got what it takes? Then join me for a ride you will always remember. I have completed two Iron Butt rides and can tell you that the feeling of accomplishment is one you will never forget.
