Alabama Butterbean Festival

Regardless of how wonderful or disastrous your high school prom night was, you can create a memorable evening and help a great cause at the same time. First Friday, September 5th, slip into your favorite prom attire and joins us for the Prom at the Pitman. There will be a live band, as well as a DJ spinning hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s. You are encouraged to bring your favorite refreshments. Leisure suits and heavy blue eye shadow is welcome. Join us for this benefit motorcycle ride for our friend and fellow law enforcement officer, Trooper Jeff Cunningham. Jeff Sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle accident on June 19 while responding to a call for help.He is in a rehab program now at a hospital in Oxford, MS. The Mississippi Highway Patrol escorted benefit ride will be Saturday, September 13, 2008. We will start at the BancorpSouth Arena parking lot in Tupelo, MS at 8:00 a.m.. The ride will carry us thru to Meridian at the Harley-Davidson store for lunch. Our final destination will be Bay ST. Louis for a shrimp boil at the Hollywood Casino. The Roam Riders September Meetup
We'll grab a coffee, review the ride for that day and leave by 10:00. In support of one of our members, we'll take a scenic ride on Highway 20 to the Etowah Indian mounds for lunch and a tour. WERA offers riders schools and entry level racing for anyone with a motorcycle and offers three types of racing:

WERA National Challenge Series - the series where a rider can see if he is serious about motorcycle roadracing. The competition is a little stiffer and the series requires dedication in order to win a championship. Travel and competitive equipment are required in this series which ranges from 8 to 10 rounds and runs on weekends which host the National Endurance Series.

WERA National Endurance Series - WERAs premier series and the longest running endurance series in the world. The races range from 4 to 24 hours. Endurance racing is a team sport with pit stop action, rider changes and the best track time for riders so they can become smooth, consistent competitors.

Phone Number: 256-773-4370 Annual Depot Days Festival Commemorates the History of the Railroad

Decatur, AL - The streets of downtown Hartselle come alive on September 20 when it celebrates the history of the railroad and its contribution to the area. Celebrating its 27th year, Hartselle Depot Days is a tribute to the importance of the growth and development of Hartselle and North Alabama over the years as a result of the railroad industry.

A Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show, 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run, Craft Show, Art Show & Childrens Art Show, Childrens Rides & Games, live entertainment on two stages, Antique Tractor & Gasoline Engine Show, food and vendors covering four blocks in the downtown area are just a few of the fun festivities set for this years event.

Hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there is no admission charge. In addition to the festivities, the specialty and antique shops located in the historic buildings downtown will be opened for business. Several of these buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Old cars, street rods, muscle cars, motorcycles and antiques. Food by the Varsity with restaurants and shops staying open late. Scott Sargeant, Charlie Filkins and The Car Guys will emcee, with Conner Lorre singing music from the '50s and '60s from 1-5 p.m. Trophies and door prizes.
