SEPT. 27th, 2008 - 2ND ANNUAL ONSLOW VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL RUN - This is an annual fundraiser/memorial run to construct a Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Jacksonville, NC. Line up will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Montford Point Road (next to the Beirut Memorial). A brief ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. with kickstands up at noon. The escorted procession will end at New River Harley-Davidson where food, prizes & entertainment will be provided. There will also be live entertainment during the event, as well as a concert following the event. The hot rods on display are of the old traditional daily driver style. Rims On The River is an annual event that takes place the second to last Saturday of April. The show takes place in historic Downtown Wilmington. Cars dating 1980 and older, line the streets of the downtown area, with the Cape Fear River and the diverse collection of retail stores and restaurants, as their backdrop. New this year to the event is the vintage motorcycle area, 1980 and older. Fat Tony's Italian Pub will be hosting free live musical entertainment. Free and open to the public.
