1st Night in Brooklyn
The above is in the wee hours of the morn on Daisy's first night out. I had been riding her since I picked her up about 5 hours earlier. We started in Manhattan then the BQE to Coney Island then over to Staten Island, back out Long Island, all over that NYC and then some. She was the little spicy southern soul I needed in New York.

Daisy and I were the first Confederate to complete an IronButt. Many other manufacturers are represented and it's nice to get Confederate in the ranks. We completed the SaddleSore in just under 17 hours one fine Weasel Wednesday in August 2006. IBA member #27342. Note that more riders have completed there rides on Harley-Davidson than any other manufacuter.

Confederates production information. From 1996 to 2001, 500 first generation machines were commissioned and built . All of them were handmade in small batches to ensure the highest level of craftsmanship in each individual motorcycle. The G1 Hellcat revolutionized the American cruiser. Early riding impressions by professional motorcycle journalists affirmed what we already knew. Our new proprietary platform architecture was far superior to that of any competitor. In the winter of 1999 the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office verified this revolutionary design as the strongest, most durable, flex free, and rigid chassis and non-unit powertrain mounting system in the world by granting patent number 005857538A.

My Misc. Findings (Facts?) about Confederate Motorcycles
  • American GT's have longer swingarms and more fork rake (hence wheel base's) than Hellcats.
  • 1996-1999 Confederate's had aluminum tanks. 2000+ F-series had carbon fibre tanks with more buldge. Matt told me he prefered the aluminum tanks in NYC.
  • Confederate F series frames were developed by Kosman. They also developed the powertrain mount design.
  • All F series Confederates have a 3" back bone. CSA bikes have a 2" backbone and was sold as a lower cost alternative. However they proved to be more expensive to make and almost bankrupted the company.
  • Just about every type of American big-twin engine was tried in the G1's. The 120ci Combat Edition was the biggest of the 1996-1999 G1's. G2 F124's have a S&S 124ci engine.
  • G2 Hellcats have a shorter higher geometry for "better handling/cornering". I think it's also because reviewers under 6' tall complained about leg position.
  • Confederate produced it's own 113ci engine in 2005. As you would expect, it has top shelf components made in America and Europe. They have round shovelhead looking cylinders and Confederate stamped in the block.
  • F series is the big twin Confederate design that includes both Generation I (G1) and Generation II (G2) Hellcat and American GT designs.
  • B series is the XR1000 Confederate design that is the Wraith.
