Palmer, AK - Palmer City Police wait in the Parking Lot in front of the Palmer DMV. The posted speed limit is 45 mph. Most think it is 55 mph, since you are leaving town. It does not reach 55 mph until you pass the businesses. So watch out!

Seward, AK - The Alaska State troopers (multiple vehicles), travel around Seward (I saw them in the radius of 25 miles) and catch unsuspecting visitors. I found only visitors being stopped and harassed (you can tell by the rental cars&agency signs). The road is very scenic with lots of overlook places. Also the road changes from 2 lane to one lane (in one direction), I was caught while merging as I increased the speed to pass one vehicle and let it merge. The trooper was coming from the opposite direction (travelling in a Chevy SUV) and I'm not sure how he was able to judge my speed! Anyway he said he clocked me at 73 on a 55 mile limit, I think I was only doing a 63 (was on cruise for 57 all along).

Nenana, AK - Troopers Routinely cruise this area, because of the extremely long straight stretches. It's easy to loose the reins, and let your automobile stretch its legs so to speak, in this area. Troopers are well aware of this, and sit and wait for anyone who's tempted to do so...They don't need to hide, because as quickly as you get up to speed, it takes a little longer to slow down. Chances are by the time you've identified the radar, you've been tagged. They just wait till you come to them. Latest trick is posting an area that's near a construction zone with signs, that read double fines for speeding............Ugh! what next! One last remark. In the Trapper Creek Area on the same State Hwy. There's a motion activated camera and sensors across the Hwy that tags your speed and gets a photo of your lic. plate at the same time. Troopers from the comfort of there Hwy office site you via mail! If you're coming from Anchorage heading North thru Trapper creek keep your eyes to the West side of the Hwy and you'll see the trap.....same with the other direction.............Happy Motoring..........................

Healy, AK - •Pretty much the whole town of Healy. It's a small 'don't blink your eyes' town. There is one trooper between Healy and Fairbanks and he drives back and forth almost constantly. Speeding will almost always result in a ticket. I haven't gotten one yet.
