Police are posted in either (Eastbound/Westbound) direction about once a month. Hawaii speed limits are set notoriously low, and this residential area is posted at 35, but most people (easily) do 45-50. As most of the road is curvy, you can't usually see them until you're caught.

Moanalua freeway Ewa bound as you pass the Kahuapaani St (Halawa Heights Road) overpass the freeway will split with two lanes heading towards Aiea/Pearlridge and two lanes towards Pearl City/Waipahu. As you enter the lanes heading toward Pearl City/Waipahu, it will immediately go into a right hand bend. HPD solo bikes can be found parked on the right shoulder as you come out of the bend. They are usually there on any given day of the week during the night time hours starting at around 8 p.m. until the early morning hours. Watch your speed as you approach the Kahuapaani St overpass and into the lanes heading Ewa towards Pearl City/Waipahu as the speed limit in that area is 50 mph.

H-1 town bound and ewa bound as you pass through Aiea/Halawa. There are usually two solo bikes parked on the left shoulder of the H-1 beneath the Kahuapaani Street (Halawa Heights Road)overpass. They're usually there between the hours of 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. any day of the week. Occasionally you can also find them there during the daylight hours. Speed limit on the H-1 in that area is 50 mph but you can easily go over that without noticing. Be careful and watch your speed in that area.

I mostly see them at night, especially late hours when they seem to have nothing else to do. Can be difficult to see them as it's a bit of a curve and some bushes.

You're leaving Kapolei Business area and going up the hill west bound towards Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park to get back on the freeway, you then descend down hill when an officer pops out from the right hand side at the bottom of the hill after lasering you going over the POSTED 25 MPH speed limit! Anyone who has travelled that road knows it is nearly impossible to go down the hill at less than 35, which causes everyone behind you to be tempted to speed by - Talk about a real SPEED TRAP! The 25 MPH posted speed limit is not only unreasonable but dangerous! In fact it's a JOKE that within a two week period, this particular HPD officer stopped dozens of working folk on their way home from a hard days work, only to hand over hundreds of dollars to the city for this sham of a Speed zone!
As you are coming down the hill on Kam Highway into Haleiwa, the speed limit drops from 55MPH to 45MPH then 35MPH in a matter of a few hundred feet. With the downhill forces and an unrealistic drop in speed, you are likely to be cited at 20 over just before the stoplight at the first turnoff. They hide on the left side of the road headed into Haleiwa.

HCPD routinely monitors this road because it is down hill, straight, and the posted speed of 35 mph is unrealistically slow. The road appears to be designed for at least 45 mph (wide lanes of travel with wide shoulders) but due to a few widely spaced cross streets the actual speed limit is set at 35mph. This site is probably the most often watched&monitored site in Hilo by HCPD.

An HCPD officer routinely sits in his subsidized vehicle in the parking lot of one of the businesses (commonly HPM or Carpet Isle)lining the Keaau bound lane monitoring Keaau bound traffic w/ his Laser. Although daytime sightings have been made, enforcement is most common after dark when the HCPD officer's vehicle is least visible. He parks facing Keeau but positions his Laser on his Driver's side window facing Bayfront. Speed limit is 35mph w/ average driver going 45 - 55.

Speed limit: is 30 mph (from Heeia Kea pier to Hygenic/Fuel pump store). HPD's finest will hide right on Miomio Loop (47-200 area). You may see them as you whip around the corner, but it is normally too late to slow down - they have you with their laser.

Frequency at which HPD sets up at said location: Low.

Marked&personalized vehicles will idle in this spot, until someone whips around the corner. Be cognizant of this area - especially at night.

H-1 Freeway east bound, near Pearl Harbor, past the Aloha Stadium heading towards the Honolulu International Airport. Motorcycle cops are anywhere along this stretch, especially where the freeway straightens out after a curve, as well as they also hide under the overpasses. Usually there are at least three solo bike officers at a time. Police also monitor the opposite direction on this same stretch of freeway, although a little less frequently.
