Blandford, MA - Just west of the center of town, by the public works garage, the speed limit dips to 25 mph. The local officer sits there clocking motorists, especially on Friday nights and weekends when tourist traffic comes into town. Beware out-of-state plates - they are especially enforced/ticketed. Don't be surprised if your speed is "inflated."

Harvard, MA - Route 2 Westbound. Harvard, MA. Long stretches of highway with a speed limit of 55. State police camp out approximately 1200 feet after the crest of a hill. If you're going too fast coming over the hill, it's already too late due to LIDAR.
Leominster, MA - Just after the I90 split, after the bridge. Very common to see a state police cruiser on the side of the road here. There is no visual until it's too late. A safe commuting speed exceeds the limits on Rt. 2 during AM and PM commutes, so it's easy to be following the speed of the traffic and not realize your at 70mph. They also wait at the weigh station before the Lancaster exit or just under that bridge. I still think it's safer to go with the flow of the traffic than to do the speed limit...the posted speed causes a problem/accidents during heavy traffic. Be safe!

Worcester, MA - Get off exits 21 or 22 and get onto Plantation St going up the hill toward Umass med school/hospital. As you crest the hill and see the science research buildings on the right and a funeral home by the light on the left, watch out for cops. As a matter of fact, go 30 before you crest the hill. They stand to the right, close to the next stoplight/intersection, directly across from funeral home. Speed changes from 40 (suggested) to 30 right in the middle of a small downhill, but I think they get people right at the top of the hill. They pull people over like 3-4 cars at a time, and it is totally not fair, because right before the 30mph sign, there is a suggested speed of 40mph sign. It is insane. I know multiple people being pulled over when they knew exactly that they were Not speeding.

For about half a mile after that, along Route 62 East, is a wooded area where the speed limit changes to 50 mph for a very short distance along Route 62. The police park on the left in a little alcove near the sand depot and you don't see them because it's dark there and hilly. They also cruise along that stretch, and will give tickets based on (visual) estimated speeds. I once got a citation for going 59 based on a police estimate -- they were traveling in the opposite direction from me!

Natick, MA - Natick is the speed trap capital of Massachusetts, but this one is particularly offensive because the speed limit changes dramatically for no good reason-- from a 50 mph section to a 40 mph -- except to raise money for the Town Of Natick. Routine speeds through this non-stop section of highway are 50-60 mph, which makes this site particularly lucrative for the town and costly to many, many safe drivers who come to town to shop at the new and quite huge mall -- the chi chi "Natick Collection." Natick should be ashamed and content itself with the tax money it gets from the mall.

This place is just south of Fairbanks Road on Route 27 and near Marlboro Road. I was pulled over near there about 18 years ago, so this is a long standing favorite place for them. The Sudbury police are looking to get a new police station and their tax override just failed for the new station - so they must be trying to raise money. For the size of the town they seem to have a lot of officers to write tickets as the crime rate is not high in the town.

Lowell, MA - Lowell Connector north has a speed limit of 55mph and 2000 ft before the end the speed limit drops to 30mph. The road takes a curve and a slope before this exit and the local police park right after exit 5A where it is impossible to see because of the curve/slope. Because of many accidents with deaths in this road and the fact that right at the end of the speedway there are houses, police will monitor speed almost daily.

Very effective location because the bridge design lets them set up in the open at the bottom of either side and you won't see them until you've crested the middle of the bridge. Northbound at this location is posted 25 mph yet is a 2 lane highway opening to three lanes once you come off the bridge.

Lynn, MA - Police officers are usually down by the Breed Middle School, or sometimes up further towards Walnut Street. Where there are three schools all within hundreds of feet of each other, there is the posted school speed limit of 20 mph when flashing, and this gives people the assumption that when it isn't flashing the limit is higher, but it's not. It is twenty no matter if the school light is flashing or not. I live on this street, and I hear from people All the time how they got pulled over and received tickets nearing a couple of hundred dollars! It's a long and wide street and I have estimated some people going 80mph quite a few times. It's not worth it.
