Drivers coming into Fremont from the east have a speed limit drop from 65mph to 55mph after the curve into Dodge county. It's marked but there's no change in the road to indicate the need for a lower limit. At the Hwy 30 interchange the limit drops to 35mph for the construction area. Radar can be taken at any of the three street overpasses that screen the median from either side. By the time you see orange barrels it's far too late.

The OPD hide in the bushes on the North East corner of 153rd Street and Pacific Street with a radar detector and radar you from afar as you go west bound from 144th and Pacific Street. Plus it's down hill so you pick up a lot of speed without even knowing it. Three officers walk into the street and signal you to pull on to the side street. No warnings.

Platte County is a speed trap. If you have out of area or out of state plates they will try to pull you over for any reason they can find. Columbus is the County seat and has Sheriff, State Trouper and local Police enforcement in town. Plus there is Carrier Enforcement. Often they combine forces and stop all traffic leaving town headed South on I-81.

4th Street is the main road that runs through the little town of David City. If you are from out of state or out of town, you are 10 times more likely to get a ticket than if you are from the area. So if you ever have to drive through David City, Nebraska, make sure you obey the speed limit.

I've noticed State, county,&local law enforcement sitting in the shadow of the monument, in the median about 90% of the time i pass through Kearney. I notice they like to use radar, but it wouldn't surprise me if they use other things too. a radar detector will usually go off since the monument itself has 2 detectors in it, as part of one of their exhibits (last time I saw them up close was about 2-3 years ago). I have also seen them facing the flow of traffic, very close to the bases of the building on either side of the interstate. If you keep the speed of surrounding traffic, you'll be fine.
